This full-day journey takes you deep into the lush coffee hills southwest of Medellín to discover Jericó – one of the most charming and colorful colonial towns in Antioquia. After a scenic drive through Andean landscapes, we’ll start our visit at the peaceful botanical garden, where native plants and birds welcome you to the town’s natural beauty.
In Jericó’s historic center, you’ll stroll along cobblestone streets lined with bright façades and artisan shops. The town is famous for its chapels (16 in total!) and its deep-rooted Catholic and cultural heritage. We’ll climb to the hilltop monument of Cristo Rey to take in panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
To round out the day, we’ll visit a local carriel workshop and learn about the handcrafted leather bags that have become symbols of Antioquian identity. Between every stop, there’s time to pause, taste something local, and simply enjoy the slow rhythm of life in the Andes.
