If you’re hungry to taste Medellín like a local, this street food tour is your perfect introduction. Set in the vibrant neighborhood of Laureles – recently named the coolest neighborhood in the world by TimeOut – this 2.5-hour culinary adventure will take you beyond the tourist spots and into the heart of Colombian flavors.
We’ll visit our favorite local eateries and street stalls to try around 10 traditional Colombian snacks and drinks. You’ll sample everything from Salpicón (a tropical fruit salad with ice cream), crispy patacones, arepas in different styles, grilled cheese, and hearty cuts like chicharrón and chorizo. Along the way, you’ll discover the sweet tang of guarapo, the coastal twist of a carimañola, and the finale: Colombia’s beloved bocadillo.
As we walk through the leafy streets of Laureles, you’ll learn about the cultural background behind each dish, meet passionate local vendors, and get a local’s perspective on life in Medellín. From artisan shops to iconic green plazas, this is more than a food tour – it’s a taste of daily life in one of Medellín’s most authentic barrios.
